Juergen Ulbts 2006-06-03 02:01:20 | The card mentioned here is the AGP Version (I've got also one). The version I got in January 2006 had a broken BIOS (version from Jan. 2005) and eCS did hang even before the OS2 or eCS could be displayed in the upper left corner.
If you've got the same problem get a newer BIOS. I downloaded a BIOS (see techpowerup forums) which was newer and where the additional pipelines (which are normally disabled) for 3D had been enabled. So beside a new and working BIOS I also got some extra speed when playing games under Windows. :)
All in all it's a nice card but it has only one DVI connector and I have two identical EIZO TFT connected to it (one using the DVI connector and one using the standard analog connector). If you want to have two DVI connectors you need to look at the PCI-Express versions (X800/X850).
Previously I had the Matrox Parhelia installed (AGP 4x; one of the first available in Germany after it's release). The card is now working an another machine. |
