The development of OS/2 was performed by commercial companies. money is the fuel. the goal - to earn money.

eComStation: Significant part of money was coming from the sponsors.

On the other side: major part of new OS/2 applications are based on open-source modules.

Zero reaction

Many developers of OS/2 applications were working several monthes on a project, but get 0 feedback, 0 reaction.

1) The age of OS/2 users is high, they are watching but don't spend efforts to "send likes" to every project. 2) In current situation, it's necessary create products for 100% of the users, don't make special products.

What to do? (we don't have advice)

Unique OS/2 User Interface

OS/2 is diffrent from other systems thanks to unique User Interface.

Russian OS/2

eCo Software is making russian eComStation since 2001, all versions of ArcaOS since 2017.

"Multi-language of OS/2"

eCo Software have create LANGE library for the developers. All messages in the code of your program are written on english. The library loads translated text from resource file.

USB Flash in OS/2

OS/2 doesn't support Windows USB FAT32 flash disks. You should re-format USB flash disk in OS/2 to FAT32. After this you can use this USB flash in Windows AND OS/2.

You can't stop time flow..

When UEFI and other barriers appeared, we said: it's not important what is changing in the computers. You can always install OS/2 to Used Core 2 Duo PC.

Time goes and we see that OS/2 must support new models of computers because old generations are not available. don't fit the requirements.

ArcaOS 5.1.1 - DOS works again

DOS virtual machine works again (it was working on Core 2 Duo, and didn't for i5). Install ArcaOS in UEFI mode to use DOS VM.

libc occupies shared memory

Giant problem of OS/2 today: linux libc libraries eat low shared memory. Nobody cares, the libraries are not recompiled to use HighMem.

Wizard is designing for OS/2 since 2004.
